Entrepreneurship Minor

West Virginia University announces a new online minor in entrepreneurship. The minor permits students to study both the theory and practical application of entrepreneurship. Coursework focuses on key business skills particular to both large and small ventures.

Students will complete five courses, 15 credit hours in order to obtain the entrepreneurship minor.

Accounting Component
Students must select 3 credit hours from the following:

ACCT 201 Principles of Accounting
ARE 110 Agribusiness Accounting

Communications Component
Students must select 3 credit hours from the following:

F&CS 460 Communication of Consumer Information
SPA 270 Effective Public Speaking

Entrepreneurship Component
The accounting component will be a prerequisite for the courses listed below.

Students must select 9 credit hours from the following:

ARE 421 Rural Enterprise Development
ENTR 293 Special Topics
ENTR 335 Small Business Entrepreneurship
ENTR 435 New Venture Creations
ENTR 491 Professional Field Experience
ENTR 493 Special Topics: Business Plan Competition
ENTR 495 Independent Study
